AOA Board Member Pledges $1 Million

A member of Andrews Osborne Academy’s Board of Directors has pledged financial support in the amount of $1 million to support the school. Suzanne Schoedinger Ellis became a member of the newly formed Andrews Osborne Academy in 2007, after the merger of the former Andrews School and Phillips-Osborne School, where Ellis was a board member. She earned her undergraduate degree in elementary education in 1959 and obtained her masters of education degree in 1987, both from Lake Erie College.

Having devoted much of her life to education, as a student, teacher, and professor, Ellis has always exhibited a passion for furthering the education of others and providing necessary resources to ensure a fulfilling and well-rounded academic experience. In making the gift, Ellis remarked, “I have tremendous confidence in the leadership and direction of the school and am thrilled to support its students and faculty in this way. I’ve always believed in the value of education and it is my hope and intent that this gift will inspire others to invest in a school that has been making an impact in Lake County since 1910.”

On announcing the gift, Head of School, Larry Goodman, said, “Transformational gifts of this nature create energy and impact that will be felt for years to come. For a small institution like Andrews Osborne Academy, it resonates in countless ways, whether that is increased awareness, giving, enrollment or morale. I am incredibly grateful for this show of confidence from a member of our board and an educator who understands the difference an education like that offered at AOA can make in the life of a student.”
