AOA Girls Basketball Impressive in Melanie Williams Tournament
Girls Varsity Basketball opened the season with the Melanie Williams Tournament and finished with a 2-1 record, advancing to the championship game before falling to Eastlake North. In the first game they won impressively, beating Cleveland Central Catholic 43-30. In the semi-finals they defeated a tough John Hay team 51-47. In the championship game they came up short to a very good Eastlake North team by the score of 62-44. Overall it was a great start to the season for the girls and something they can build on. Nika Humeniuk was named to the all-tournament team.
