Ohio Art Education Association is proud to announce that 3 students Taylor Gibbons, Jade Wesson, and Karl Xia have artwork accepted in our annual Emerging Artist Exhibition. The art exhibited was created for Ohio students in grades nine through twelve. These works are on display at the State Teachers Retirement Systems (STRS) building, 275 East Broad Street, in Columbus, Ohio on September 10th through October 20st. The exhibition is sponsored by the Ohio Art Education Association which is the professional organization for art teachers in Ohio with a membership of close to two thousand educators. Among its many professional endeavors, OAEA works to promote art education and recognizes quality student art through various exhibits sponsored during the year at both the state and regional levels.
One hundred fifty-three out of two hundred-forty pieces of artwork was selected for this juried show from the nine OAEA regions in the state of Ohio. This show is designed to help motivate and inspire new artists to excel in areas of drawing, painting, sculpture, crafts, computer art, photography and printing. Everyone involved should be proud of the students and teachers who inspire, creative thinking, problem solving and skillful techniques.
To celebrate the teachers and students there will be a reception on October, 20st at the STRS building. The ceremony will begin at 2:00 and end around 3:00. The students will be awarded with certificates, prizes and some works will be selected in different categories for special rewards.
