Summer Camps at AOA

Andrews Osborne Academy has been providing some of the best summer camp opportunities in the Greater Cleveland area for years. Children from ages 4 to rising 9th graders can choose from a wide range of programs that include sports, arts, science, cooking, business leadership, theater, and chess.

Please note that Nike Soccer Camp (June 23-27) and SPIRE Challenger Soccer Camps require separate registration from all other AOA camps.

  • Early Childhood Camps June 9 - July 25

    Early Childhood Camps are available for six weeks. Sign up for one week at a time or all six weeks.

    *PLEASE NOTE: All Early Childhood campers must be able to use the bathroom independently.

    *Campers must be entering Pre-Kindergarten by the fall.

    WEEK 1, June 9-16: Claws, Paws, and Jaws
    Grades: Pre-Kindergarten - 3rd Grade
    Join us this week as we explore the amazing world of animals with their claws, paws, jaws, and how they move and survive in their habitats! This week, children will learn about different animals, focusing on their claws, paws, jaws, and special characteristics. Through fun activities like animal movement relays and crafting paw prints, students will discover how animals use their bodies to interact with the world. Expect hands-on fun with animal art projects, stories, and imaginative play!

    WEEK 2, June 16-20: Mad Scientists
    Grades: Pre-Kindergarten - 3rd Grade
    Get ready to explore the wonders of science and have some explosive fun with wild experiments in our Mad Scientist Lab!
    Young learners will become junior scientists, experimenting with fizzy reactions, slime, and exciting science projects. Through hands-on activities like creating oobleck and watching baking soda and vinegar "explode," kids will be amazed by the magic of science and develop a sense of curiosity and discovery.

    WEEK 3, June 23-27: Pet Palooza
    Grades: Pre-Kindergarten - 3rd Grade

    Come join the fun and learn all about pets – from puppies to birds – as we discover how to care for our furry, scaly, and feathered friends! This week is all about pets! Children will explore different types of pets, from dogs and cats to fish and birds, and learn how to care for them. Through pretend play, pet care stations, and arts and crafts, kids will develop an understanding of responsibility and empathy as they learn what pets need to live happy, healthy lives.

    WEEK 4, July 7-11 : Space is the Place
    Grades: Pre-Kindergarten - 3rd Grade
    Blast off into an exciting week of exploration as we journey through outer space, learn about planets, and pretend to be astronauts! Campers will be taken on a stellar adventure through the universe! They’ll learn about the solar system, planets, and stars, while designing their own rocket ships and pretending to be astronauts. With fun activities like making moon sand and creating a solar system mobile, kids will discover the wonders of outer space and use their creativity to explore the final frontier. 

    WEEK 5, July 14-18 : Jurassic Journey
    Grades: Pre-Kindergarten - 3rd Grade
    Take a step back in time this week as we embark on a thrilling adventure to discover dinosaurs and their prehistoric world!
    Children will travel back in time to the age of dinosaurs. They’ll learn about different types of dinosaurs, what they ate, and how they lived. With activities like fossil hunts, dinosaur art projects, and hands-on play, kids will get to dig for fossils and create their own dino world. Get ready for a roaring good time in this prehistoric adventure! 

    WEEK 6, July 21-25 : Bugs and Butterflies
    Grades: Pre-Kindergarten - 3rd Grade
    Buzz into the world of bugs and butterflies as we explore these tiny creatures and their important role in nature! This week, children will discover the amazing world of insects, from busy ants to colorful butterflies. They'll learn about the life cycle of a butterfly, explore the world of bugs through sensory play, and make bug-themed crafts. Through nature walks and imaginative play, kids will appreciate the beauty and importance of these fascinating creatures in our ecosystem.

    These weekly themes are designed to engage and excite Pre-K students, helping them learn about animals, science, space, dinosaurs, and nature in creative and interactive ways!

     
     


  • Creative Impressions Printmaking: June 9 - 13

    Instructor: Sarah Royer
    Grades: 3rd - 6th
    Time: 9am - 12pm
    Cost: $225.00
    Description: Andrews Osborne Academy welcomes artist Sarah Royer to their summer enrichment program.  As a guest artist, Sarah will offer one week of introduction to printmaking for ages 3-6 grade.  Students will learn the basics of intaglio printmaking, screen printing, and relief printing.  
  • Science Camp Week 1: June 16 - 20

    Grades: Rising 3rd - 8th

    Description: Get ready for an action-packed summer of discovery, creativity, and hands-on adventure! At Robots, Rockets & Rivers Camp, young explorers will dive into the exciting worlds of robotics, rocketry, engineering, and environmental science, all while unleashing their creativity through 3D printing and design.

    Description: This week will cover a variety of printmaking techniques, including dry point etching, chine-collé, and screen printing.   Students can use this opportunity to learn and work with an artist and potentially create a portfolio piece.  This enrichment program is designed as an introduction to printmaking and is flexible for all levels. 

  • Woodworking Summer Camp: July 7-11

    Instructor: Delmar Sanderson
    Grades: Ages 9-13

    Description:
    Get ready to roll up your sleeves and dive into the world of woodworking with Delmar Sanderson who has been a woodworker/hobbyist for 30 years! This hands-on summer camp is designed for 4th to 6th graders who want to explore the art of woodworking using traditional hand tools. Campers will learn essential skills for building small, practical projects from scratch. Whether it’s crafting a picture frame, a small shelf, or a decorative wooden sign, campers will gain confidence in using hand tools, understanding wood types, and following design plans.

    • Candle Making & Wax Melts: Design and pour your own scented creations.
    • Pom Pom Rugs: Craft cozy, colorful rugs for your space.

  • Spanish Class Summer Camp: July 14-18 & July 28-Aug 1

    Choose 1 week or both!

    Embark on an exciting two-week adventure into the world of Spanish language and culture! with an emphasis on fun, interactive learning. Students will discover key elements of the Spanish language through games, music, hands-on activities, and dynamic lessons. By the end of this summer camp, participants will feel confident in basic Spanish communication, helping them connect with others in both personal and academic settings.Foods and Beverages: Taste your way through the language as you learn food-related vocabulary and try different foods from Spanish-speaking countries.

    Elia De La Garza is a bilingual professional with two master’s degrees and a strong background in education, cultural programming, and student engagement. She currently serves as the Hispanic and International Coordinator at Lakeland Community College, where she supports diverse student populations through programming, scholarship assistance, and academic guidance.

    She is passionate about creating inclusive, vibrant spaces that celebrate multiculturalism and community connection. With experience organizing large-scale events such as Day of the Dead celebrations and cultural heritage months, she is dedicated to empowering students through both academic and cultural enrichment.

    In addition to her work at the college, she teaches Spanish and cultural classes at various levels and leads educational programs for adopted children from South and Central America. Her warm, enthusiastic approach is matched by a deep commitment to advocacy, equity, and education.
  • Phoenix Basketball Skills Camp: July 14 - 18

    Instructor: Chris Royer
    Grades: Ages 6-14
    Time: 9:00am - 12:00pm
    Cost: $150.00
    Description: From beginner to advanced, all players in the camp will learn skills to enhance their game. Participants will practice drills that they can take home or use with a friend to continue sharpening their skills. Drills will be layered with player-versus-player competition, both one-on-one and in small groups. Each participant will be evaluated on all basketball skills during the camp and will receive suggestions for improvement both during and after the week. All participants will receive a camp t-shirt, so please provide your size when registering.

    Description: AOA Athletic Director Rudy Kirbus will be leading an exciting All Sports Camp this summer. This camp is perfect for children who love sports and are eager to try new ones. Each day, campers will participate in a variety of sports, with the focus on learning new skills and having tons of fun. Sports such as baseball, basketball, soccer, tennis, and more will be featured, offering campers a well-rounded athletic experience.
  • The Great AOA Cook Off: July 28 - August 1

    Description: Get ready for a fun and delicious half-day Summer Cooking Camp where kids will learn to cook, create, and explore new flavors! This hands-on camp is perfect for young food lovers who want to mix, bake, chop, and taste their way through summer.

    In addition to making tasty treats, campers will take special field trips to local eateries and businesses in Downtown Willoughby! They’ll meet restaurant owners, explore behind-the-scenes kitchens, and discover what makes local food so special.

    A fun, interactive experience that will build confidence in the kitchen and create lasting summer memories!
