Summer Camps

For years, Andrews Osborne Academy has provided outstanding summer camp opportunities for campers of all ages in the Greater Cleveland area. Through dynamic programs in sports, arts, and science, children explore their interests, build confidence, and make lasting summer memories.

  • Early Childhood Camps June 8 - July 24

    Early Childhood Camps are available for six weeks. Sign up for one week at a time or all six weeks. 

    *PLEASE NOTE:

    *All Early Childhood campers must be able to use the bathroom independently.

    *Campers must be entering Pre-Kindergarten by the fall. 

    *Week 4 Camp (Aloha Summer) is for PreK - Grade 2. 

    *NO EARLY CARE OR AFTERCARE IS AVAILABLE.

    WEEK 1, June 8-12: Claws, Paws, and Jaws
    Grades: Pre-Kindergarten - 3rd Grade
    Join us this week as we explore the amazing world of animals with their claws, paws, jaws, and how they move and survive in their habitats! This week, children will learn about different animals, focusing on their claws, paws, jaws, and special characteristics. Through fun activities like animal movement relays and crafting paw prints, students will discover how animals use their bodies to interact with the world. Expect hands-on fun with animal art projects, stories, and imaginative play!

    WEEK 2, June 15-19: Mad Scientists
    Grades: Pre-Kindergarten - 3rd Grade
    Get ready to explore the wonders of science and have some explosive fun with wild experiments in our Mad Scientist Lab!
    Young learners will become junior scientists, experimenting with fizzy reactions, slime, and exciting science projects. Through hands-on activities like creating oobleck and watching baking soda and vinegar "explode," kids will be amazed by the magic of science and develop a sense of curiosity and discovery.

    WEEK 3, June 22-26: Super Squad
    Grades: Pre-Kindergarten - 3rd Grade

    Calling all heroes-in-training! Super Squad Camp is a week full of adventure, creativity, and teamwork for Pre-K through 3rd graders. Campers will create their own superhero identities, design masks and gear, and tackle exciting missions that inspire problem-solving, kindness, and confidence.

    Each day, children will share their favorite superheroes and explore the superpowers that make them amazing,learning how to use their own strengths to help others and work together as a team. With games, arts and crafts, obstacle courses, and imaginative storytelling, every camper will discover that being a hero is about more than capes, it’s about courage, creativity, and heart.

    WEEK 4, June 29-July 3 Aloha Summer
    Grades: Pre-Kindergarten - 2nd Grade*

    Surfs up! Campers dive into island vibes with pretend surfing, ocean animal discovery, and tropical games. Fun Friday: A full luau party with music, dancing, and games.

    WEEK 5, July 6-10 : Space is the Place
    Grades: Pre-Kindergarten - 3rd Grade
    Blast off into an exciting week of exploration as we journey through outer space, learn about planets, and pretend to be astronauts! Campers will be taken on a stellar adventure through the universe! They’ll learn about the solar system, planets, and stars, while designing their own rocket ships and pretending to be astronauts. With fun activities like making moon sand and creating a solar system mobile, kids will discover the wonders of outer space and use their creativity to explore the final frontier.

    WEEK 6, July 13-17 : Jurassic Journey
    Grades: Pre-Kindergarten - 3rd Grade
    Take a step back in time this week as we embark on a thrilling adventure to discover dinosaurs and their prehistoric world!
    Children will travel back in time to the age of dinosaurs. They’ll learn about different types of dinosaurs, what they ate, and how they lived. With activities like fossil hunts, dinosaur art projects, and hands-on play, kids will get to dig for fossils and create their own dino world. Get ready for a roaring good time in this prehistoric adventure!

    WEEK 7, July 20-24 : Bug Bonanza
    Grades: Pre-Kindergarten - 3rd Grade
    Buzz into the world of bugs and butterflies as we explore these tiny creatures and their important role in nature! This week, children will discover the amazing world of insects, from busy ants to colorful butterflies. They'll learn about the life cycle of a butterfly, explore the world of bugs through sensory play, and make bug-themed crafts. Through nature walks and imaginative play, kids will appreciate the beauty and importance of these fascinating creatures in our ecosystem.


     
     


  • Hola! Welcome to Introductory Spanish: July 13-17

    Instructor: Elia De La Garza
    Grades: 4th - 6th
    Time: 9am - 12pm
    Cost: $150
    Description: This class is a fun and engaging introduction to the Spanish language and the cultures that bring it to life. Students will learn basic Spanish through games, songs, hands-on activities, and real-world experiences. We’ll explore traditions from Spanish-speaking countries, go on mini cultural “adventures,” and even sample foods from around the world through special outings and field trips. This class is all about building confidence, curiosity, and a love for language - no prior Spanish experience needed!

  • AOA Soccer Camp with Coach Slawson: June 15-19

    Full-day: M-Thurs 9AM - 3PM, Friday 9AM - Noon
    Half-day 9am - Noon
    Cost: $370 full day; $260 half day
    Lunch: Campers bring their own lunch.
    Description: Join us at Andrews Osborne Academy for an exciting Soccer Skills Camp for players ages 5–6 and 7–12! Younger players will focus on building confidence and learning the basics, dribbling, passing, shooting, and teamwork—through fun, age-appropriate games. Older players will be challenged with more advanced footwork, ball control, strategy, and game play. Whether your child is new to soccer or looking to sharpen their skills, this camp offers a supportive, energetic environment where players grow, learn, and enjoy the game on the field.

    About Coach Slawson:

    Coach Oliver Slawson brings a wealth of experience at the highest levels of soccer to Andrews Osborne Academy. Most recently, he served as the U18 Academy Coach for Real Salt Lake, the top-ranked MLS Next Academy and the only residential academy in Major League Soccer. At RSL, he coached current MLS Next Pro signees, U.S. Youth National Team players, and future NCAA Division I athletes. Prior to his time in the MLS, Coach Slawson was the Associate Head Men’s Coach at NCAA Division I Coastal Carolina University, where he helped lead the program to a Sun Belt Conference Championship and a #14 national seed in the 2021 NCAA Tournament. Before Coastal, he re-established the NCAA Division II program at Ashland University, quickly building it into a championship-caliber team that earned its first-ever NCAA tournament berth under his leadership.

    Earlier in his career, Coach Slawson spent over a decade on staff at The University of Akron, where the Zips captured the 2010 NCAA National Championship and reached the Final Four three times. During his tenure, Akron posted a 171-31-23 record and produced 29 future MLS players, including World Cup participants DeAndre Yedlin and Richie Laryea. In addition to his collegiate and professional coaching experience, Coach Slawson currently serves on the U.S. Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program’s national and regional coaching staff, recently leading the 2005 Boys National Team to a Dallas Cup title and guiding the 2007 Boys team on an international tour in Costa Rica. Coach Slawson lives in Northeast Ohio with his wife Michelle, a former collegiate soccer player, and their two sons, Parker and Carson.

  • Science Camp July 13-17: Map Masters

    Description: Campers will learn letterboxing, orienteering, and design their own salt dough topography maps. Fun Friday: A massive scavenger hunt to try out our skills and name the ultimate "Map Master."

    Description: Campers will study storm systems, learn about nature cycles, analyze weather trends, and keep their own weather log. Fun Friday: Perfect Storm Challenge where teams must work together to save their town from a weather disaster.

  • Cleveland Guardians Baseball Camp June 22-26

    Cleveland Guardians Youth Baseball Camp will be held from June 22–26 at  Andrews Osborne Academy.

    This will be the 4th year hosting the Camp at AOA utilizing the outstanding facilities available at the school. The camp is for ball players ages 6–14 of all skill levels and provides instruction in a fun, confidence-building environment where kids grow as athletes, teammates, and people.

    The camp this year at AOA will be part of the New Grand Slam experience the Guardians are offering. It's a 5 day camp; 4 days at AOA and Includes a VIP Progressive Field Experience on the fifth day. It also includes a full Guardians uniform, two tickets to a Guardians Camper Reunion Game, a Q&A with a Guardians MLB, MiLB, or alumni player, and our Guardians Skills Competition.

    Description: AOA Athletic Director Rudy Kirbus will be leading an exciting All Sports Camp this summer. This camp is perfect for children who love sports and are eager to try new ones. Each day, campers will participate in a variety of sports, with the focus on learning new skills and having tons of fun. Sports such as baseball, basketball, soccer, tennis, and more will be featured, offering campers a well-rounded athletic experience.

Vanessa Anderson-Zheng serves as the Summer Camp Director at Andrews Osborne Academy, where she wears many hats throughout the summer and school year. In addition to overseeing AOA’s summer programs, she helps lead the AOA Parent Association and is a dedicated fourth-grade educator at the school. Her own children have proudly volunteered throughout the summer camp program, reflecting her deep connection to the AOA community. Outside of school, Mrs. Anderson-Zheng enjoys hiking, spending time outdoors, and playing with her dog, Bruno, and her cat, Dumpling.
