April 19th-23rd 2021

    • International Week

We are excited to start preparing for this year's international festivities.  Please review the following areas below where you can get involved. Students, parents, faculty, and staff are welcome and encouraged to participate. If you have any questions, please contact Jessie Barbarich at All forms below must be submitted by Wednesday, March 3rd.

Mrs. Paul and Mrs. Bordonaro will be gathering performance recordings this year to share each morning during the week. Students can share a dance, song, poetry or anything creative. Those who are interested should click here to submit your form.

This year Chief Nick and his staff will be preparing dishes from different regions of the world each day for lunch during International Week. Ms. Amy Geyer will also be collecting recipes which she will compile and share for families to cook at home. Ms. Amy Geyer is looking for unique foods from around the world and typical foods from all cultures. Please email your recipe submissions to

Culture Fair
Our Culture Fair will be on display in the dining hall throughout International Week. Mr. Deeter and Mrs. Meyer are looking for your cultural posters or artwork to display. All displays need to be stand alone and not need to be "manned". With consideration for COVID-19 safe practices, we ask that there be no manipulatives, take away items or items that must be handled. We would prefer for you to have a digital extension that can be accessed using a QR code. Click Here for the submission form for participation in the Culture Fair.

We would like to include a visual of the countries and territories currently represented here at AOA. This year we will be asking students from those countries and territories to design signs saying hello and goodbye in their language. These signs will line the front driveway during International Week. We are currently aware of the following listed below. If you do not see your country or territory please email Mrs. Melissa Nipper at by Wednesday, March 3rd. Sign designs are due by spring break.

Community Cultural Drive-Through

This year we will be adding a drive-through cultural performance event that is open to AOA families and the community. Performers will be all around AOA’s campus while spectators drive through watching the performances from their vehicle. We will have AOA students performing as well as some of our partnership groups including Cleveland Ballet’s school, and the Fine Arts Association’s African Dance Group. The drive-through will take place on Thursday, April 22nd unless it looks like rain, then we will announce a rainout date. Students who are interested in performing, please Click Here to sign up.
