Middle School Signature Programs
  • Cross-curricular projects: Greek Festival, Medieval Feast, Colonial Faire, Debates (GMO Debate, Patriots v. Loyalists), Roller Coaster Build
  • Experience and deepen understandings in various curricular class trips such as: Carnegie Museums, Washington DC, visits to local museums and meeting with area experts
  • Genius Hour Projects: complete genius projects to embark on individual student-led projects advised by faculty to challenge students to dream, create, blog, work and complete a project of own choosing.  Eighth grade students deliver speeches to classmates and faculty discussing their projects
  • Middle School Musical: Participate in the middle school musical to share with the school community. Students contribute their skills and talents in chosen groups such as: cast & crew, props, costumes, set-making, marketing, photography, sound and lighting
  • Advisory: Individual and small group mission-based advisory curriculum offers students support and flexibility to engage in a variety of learning experiences. Monthly themes include community and culture,  team-building, goal-setting, organization, empathy, coping skills, conflict resolution and making decisions. Our lessons and discussions are planned with the common thread of growth mindset learning at its core.
  • Explore: Students engage in a rotation of co-curricular subjects meeting daily during the explore period of the day.  Subjects included in rotation are performing arts, health, technology, musical, and art
