Phys. Ed. and Health

Sixth Grade 

Physical Education
  • Provide an open and engaging physical education experience starting each class with a structured exercise time
  • Allow opportunities for traditional sports to be played but also allow time to play favorite playground games such as dodgeball, wallball and kickball
  • Promote all-inclusive recreation atmosphere and not only focus on skill-based sports
  • Introduce creative opportunities through team building activities and student-led days such as free time, nature walks and build your own athletic courses
Health
  • Learn the basics of good nutrition 
  • Examine and apply the basis of the healthy food guidelines in order to give context for daily diet 
  • Understand the importance of how to properly read nutrition labels for the sake of food safety in regards to personal diet
Seventh Grade 

Physical Education

  • Develop personal identity and character
  • Explore how to express emotions in healthy and safe ways
  • Develop a sense of safe and healthy friendships
  • Develop skills in resisting peer pressure and creating healthy boundaries

  • Discuss how the skeletal system and muscular system work in tandem to support the frame of the body, respiratory system, nervous system, endocrine system and reproductive system
