The Flight Plan ensures that every student is treated like a VIP - a very INDIVIDUAL person. We focus on understanding who the student is, through conversations and observations. The intended result of this program is to provide the tools for students to self-reflect, set goals, and succeed far beyond AOA.
All students in grades 3-12 meet individually with their teacher or advisor to discuss each of the four areas of focus: individual and academic in the fall, and social and extracurricular in the spring. During these meetings, the teacher selects an array of questions personalized to each student. Together, they set a goal or intention for each subcategory that the student will work towards over the course of the next 12 months. Students are encouraged to be active contributors in this program during one-on-one discussions with faculty throughout their AOA experience.
