The Parent Teams
AOA values our partnership with the parents of our students greatly. We are grateful for the trust the parents have placed in the school and work hard to earn that trust every day. And the parents respond in kind by working hard every day to support the mission of the school.
To leverage this partnership we have four standing “teams” that parents can volunteer to join. These teams provide targeted volunteer opportunities for parents throughout the year. Each team is overseen by the office or division within the school that overlaps most closely and clearly with the team’s focus.
The four teams that use parent volunteers to improve the AOA experience for everyone throughout the year are:
- The Community Care Team - which provides volunteer opportunities for parents that strengthen our community (staging a Teacher Appreciation Day, hosting a program/event such as the Cinderella Ball, etc.).
- The Development Team – which provides volunteer opportunities to help the school meet our fundraising goals
- The Sports Boosters Team – which provides volunteer opportunities to support our teams and our athletes throughout the sports seasons
- The Arts Boosters Team – which provides volunteer opportunities to support the cast and crew of our arts productions over the course of the year
The Community Care Team is overseen by our Director of Admission, Rachelle Sundberg. The Development Team is overseen by our Chief Development Officer, Maureen Ischay. The Arts Boosters Team and the Athletic Boosters Team are both overseen by Assistant Head of School for Co-Curriculars and Director of Athletics, Scott McNevan.
