Middle School (grades 6-8)

Welcome to Middle School where highly qualified, dedicated, caring faculty offer an enriched, personal, and complete educational experience for your child. The Middle School teachers come to know the fifth through eighth grade students as individuals with talents, skills, and character attributes that are not confined to the classroom. A faculty advisor carefully guides each student to explore and achieve through both academic and interpersonal experiences.

The core curriculum is a comprehensive program that offers a full complement of courses, including mathematics, science, language arts, social studies, and foreign language. Co-curricular classes include vocal and instrumental music, physical education, visual and fine arts, and health education. Students have access to both laptop and desktop computers and an instructor who integrates technology with each of the content areas.

Students may participate in a variety of elective and extracurricular opportunities. Aspiring broadcasters produce news shows that are viewed by all students at the weekly assemblies. Teachers also coach interested students for regional competitions, such as Mathcounts and Power of the Pen.

The Middle School Assembly is a weekly, student-centered forum that showcases a student from each grade level in a public speaking presentation. The public speaking curriculum culminates in eighth grade as each student selects and researches a topic of interest then delivers a personalized speech, replete with a technological presentation.
